(Click here) NatMeet is the national gathering of Australia’s Mazda MX-5 Clubs, held every two years at a location selected by the host State Club. The Mazda MX-5 Club of New South Wales is hosting the tenth NatMeet over the 2012 Easter weekend event commencing from Friday 6 April and concluding on Tuesday 10 April 2012, and has selected Canberra as the ideal venue. The members of the Canberra Chapter of the Club have lead roles in showing off their city for this fantastic event. We invite MX-5 enthusiasts from around Australia to join us on organised drives on some of Australia’s best MX-5 roads through historic townships and hamlets, to participate in the Concours d’Elegance, to test your driving skills in motorsport events and to socialise in the good company of likeminded people who enjoy the world’s most popular sports car. Your Committee has organised some unique experiences for you during NatMeet 2012, including: FRIDAY: On Friday afternoon there is time for you to prepare your car for Saturday’s Concours d’Elegance, or participate in the Five Hills Run around Canberra. Friday night you can renew old friendships from previous NatMeets and welcome first-timers into our wonderful NatMeet family at the Welcome BBQ. SATURDAY: After giving your MX-5 some last minute T.L.C. head to the Concours d’Elegance venue. At the conclusion of judging we will form up for a run through the country side to the NASA Tidbinbilla Tracking Station. Tonight we have the experience of a lifetime organised for you ~ Dinner under “G for George”, the WWII Bomber which hangs suspended from the ceiling at the Australian War Memorial. Who do you know that has done this??? There is also an opportunity for a brief tour of the War Memorial before the Dinner (at an additional cost to be advised). SUNDAY: A day of choice . . . · Test your driving skills at the Wakefield Park Track Day (details will be advised separately) · Join a sightseeing run which will arrive at Wakefield Park in time for lunch with those competing in the Track Day then join in the Funkhana at Wakefield Park · Or Join the optional Sightseeing & Shopping Bus Adventure visiting Markets, DFO and the trendy shopping precinct of Manuka (cost is extra and nominated as part of registration). Your day will culminate with Dinner at the magnificent heritage listed National Film and Screen Archive Building where you can reminisce and be amazed by historic motoring footage from the Archive’s collection. MONDAY: Another invigorating drive through the country side to a special lunch at a restored 1865 pub before returning to the ANU to prepare for the grand finale, the Awards Presentation and Dinner in the Great Hall at the ANU, then it is time to party, party, party and enjoy the great entertainment we have organised for you (wear your dancing shoes)!
